Kids always complained about having to "set the table"--on TV or when I went to play at their houses. But, this was never a thing in our home. I can't recall being asked to ever "set the table," and even those instances where I do remember laying out a napkin, spoon, and chopsticks for my family, I don't recall having to be asked to do so or disliking the task.
